About us

Atoma Research was founded in 2023 by Edmund Rawle and Niall McMahon. Atoma’s mission is to drive capital to the most impactful climate tech solutions using the best available data and proprietary modelling. The vision is to cover all climate technologies through time, but the initial focus is on the technologies needed to decarbonise the hard-to-abate sectors.

Atoma is an independent climate tech analytics company that uses proprietary data and advanced modelling capabilities to create robust research and commercial insight into the optimal pathway to help cool the planet.  We combine cutting edge AI-technology with our proprietary approach to deliver unique ways to analyse the climate tech space, with a focus on energy, marine, aviation and agriculture and carbon dioxide removal.

Our platform, PathwayIQ, delivers advanced analytical insights and intelligence on each low-carbon solution and their associated technology pathways. It empowers users to compare and assess a wide range of decarbonisation options tailored to their specific sectors. By modelling sensitivities and scenarios, users gain a comprehensive understanding of the risks and opportunities associated with each technology pathway.

In addition to low-carbon fuels and fertilisers, PathwayIQ explores sector-specific solutions, including electrification, design enhancements, and smart operational strategies. The platform also evaluates opportunities in carbon dioxide and other GHG removal technologies, such as Direct Air Capture, ocean-based techniques, Enhanced Weathering, and bio-based solutions.
